Buddhist Monuments Guntupalli caves is dotted with a number of the best specimens of monolithic and structural Buddhist remains dated to the 3rd-2nd century BC to 5th-6th century AD. The important monuments set are: rock cut temple or vritta chaitya, giant religious residence, little religious residence, brick chaitya, ruined mandapa, stone stupa and cluster of consecrated stupas.
Rock cut Temple (Vritta Chaitya) in Guntupalli caves:
Dated to the 3rd-2nd century BC, the vritta chaitya is circular on set up and enshrines a rock cut consecrated stupa provided with alittle circumambulatory path around it. Regionally referred to as Dharmalingeswara, its domed domical ceiling marked by graven ribs whereas its exterior shows AN arched facade, with decorative rafts resembling far-famed Sudama and Lamasrishi caves of state.
