Tipu sultan palace or Tipu sultan’s Summer Palace was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler tipu Sultan. it’s placed in Bangalore, India. Tipu sultan palace was constructing started by Hyder Ali in the walls of the Bangalore Fort and completed during the amount of Tipu sultan in the year 1791. when the death of tipu sultan in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the Tipu sultan palace was utilized by British Administration as Secretariat before moving to Attara Kacheri in 1868. Nowadays it’s a tourist spot placed at the middle of old city near Kalasipalyam Bus Stand and maintained by Government of Karnataka.

The Tipu sultan palace structure has been built entirely with Teak Wood and stands adorned with pillars, arches and balconies. It’s an example of Indo-Islamic architecture. It’s believed that tipu sultan used to conduct his durbar (court) from the eastern and western balconies of the upper floor. There are lovely floral motifs embellishing the walls of the palace. The location also holds a painting of grand throne visualized by Tipu sultan by himself. And Coated with gold sheet plates and insert with precious emerald stones, tipu had vowed ne’er to use it till he completely defeated English Army. thus after the death of tipu, British Administration demolished the throne and auctioned in elements since it had been too expensive for a single person to buy it in entire piece.
The rooms in the ground floor are converted into alittle museum showcasing numerous achievements of tipu sultan and his administration. There are freshly done portraits of the folks and places of that time. there’s a replica of Tipu’s Tiger, that is presently in the Victoria and Albert museum at London. the garments of tipu sultan and his crown are gift in silver and gold platform. The silver carrier given by a general to Hyder Ali is also displayed.
The area ahead of the palace is developed as a garden and field by agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka. The palace is open to public daily from 10am to 6pm (except on Sundays), and there’s an entry fee of 5 per person for Indians and 100 per person for foreigners. Photography is allowed and there’s no special fee for camera.
